Every year more than a million American are diagnosed with some form of skin cancer. Many of these skin cancers can be attributed to ultraviolet radiation and its harmful effects on the skin. Since most skin cancers are directly related to UVA and UVB radiation, it is important to note that just one serious sunburn in childhood can increase an individual’s chance of getting skin cancer by 50%.
